February 8, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Philadelphia Sierra Stars FC as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Sierra Stars FC will begin UPSL play in the Northeast Conference American Division. The club will host its games at the South Philadelphia Supersite (2926 S. 10th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148).

Sierra Stars FC was founded in 2010. Dr. Sheku Sillah is Team President.

UPSL Northeast Conference Manager Paul Konneh said, "We are almost finished with new team expansion in the American Division with the addition of Sierra Stars FC. This is a club full of experienced players and coaches who have participated in U.S. Open Cup in their careers, and some have played in the toughest leagues in the northeast. We're excited to welcome Sierra Stars and expect them to be competitive on the field right away."

Mohamed Mansaray is General Manager and Head Coach. Darlensky Charles and Isiaka F. Kamara serve as Assistant Coaches. Alpha Kanu is a member of the team's technical staff.

"The goal of this club is to give young players the opportunity to play at a higher level where they will reach their full potential, and the UPSL is a great place for young ballers to showcase their talent. We are very excited to participate in the UPSL this spring," Mansaray said.

Currently the Sierra Stars FC is training at Upper Darby High School (601 N. Lansdowne Ave., Drexel Hill, PA 19026).

The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Sierra Stars FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
